5 Rounds W/ Wildfire & Skippy, Pt. 3
This week, Skippy & Wildfire return to debate five more questions. The questions this time will
focus on the aftereffects of UFC 82. “Wildfire” won last time so let’s see if he can make it two in
a row.  If you want your questions to be used in a future edition, please send us an e-mail at

Round 1
Is Jon Fitch the next challenger for the Welterweight Title?

Skippy: Going into UFC 82 I would have said yes, but his performance was absolutely lackluster against
Chris Wilson. It seems fit that if Karo Parisyan can convincingly defeat Thiago Alves, it would finally be Karo's
long-awaited shot at the title. But since he hasn't finished anyone in a few years, the picture will be murky
at best.

Wildfire: I agree, but it’s not because of his “strong” performance against Chris Wilson. I knew that Fitch
wouldn’t finish Wilson in that fight but I didn’t think Fitch would expose so many holes in his game. Fitch is
already talking crap about GSP and that’s not very smart. Then again, Fitch went to Purdue and we know
how those people always think they are better than what they really are.  Boiler Up, toot, toot!

Round 2
Is Yushin Okami vs. Anderson Silva a successful PPV Headliner?

Skippy: Yes, for one reason: it involves Anderson Silva. Okami most likely would not beat or challenge Silva
too much, but there is no one to seriously challenge Silva until someone else comes up through the ranks.
Silva provides such spectacular action that the American fan base is realizing how amazing he really is. I do
think Joe Silva would have to stack the rest of the main card to help support this.

Wildfire: I disagree, as you wouldn’t need to stack the rest of the card if the headliner was strong enough.
Silva can draw fans but putting him in there against someone that common MMA fans don’t know spells
failure for PPV buys. I would love to see this rematch, as the first one ended by DQ when Silva kicked Okami’
s head into the 15th row.  This card would need another big fight for it to be deemed successful.

Round 3
Do you think Heath Herring was impressive in his win over Kongo?

Skippy: He wasn‘t impressive. He did, however, show that his conditioning is better than we may have ever
seen before, and hopefully that is part of an overall dedication to improvement. This doesn't put Herring into
a title shot though, or even close to one. He still has to prove that he can definitively defeat a top
opponent.

Wildfire: I disagree with saying he was impressive. I think Kongo lost the fight more than Herring won the
fight. I was correct with my thinking that Kongo would take Herring down, but then Kongo didn’t do
anything and allowed that stupid kimura switch to reverse his position.  I enjoying watching Herring fight
but he needs a solid victory before he gets anywhere close to the Top 5 in the UFC. Maybe put him in there
against Gonzaga next??

Round 4
Is Mark Coleman a real threat to Brock Lesnar?

Skippy: No. There was a time when Coleman was indeed a badass, but he'll be nearly 44 when this fight
happens and his name isn't Randy Couture. Brock will probably end this very quickly to put himself back up
above .500.

Wildfire
: I say no as well. Coleman is basically being fed to Lesnar, as this is a perfect match-up for Brock.
Coleman, regardless of his wrestling experience, won’t be able to stop Brock’s takedowns and will eat
punches until the ref stops it midway through the 1st Round.

Round 5
Will Andrei Arlovski re-sign with the UFC?

Skippy: I would love to say this will happen, but I don't see how. If Arlovski had intended to re-sign, he
would have done so and the UFC would have ponied up to make sure of it.

Wildfire: I’m going to agree. I don’t think that Arlovski has much of a market outside of the UFC. He
certainly wouldn’t be able to beat Fedor or Josh Barnett, so M-1 and World Victory Road are out. He would
continue to get some favorable match-ups in the UFC and would stand a chance to hold the title again.
Arlovski vs. Mir is a match up that we all were promised would happen last year. This should be Andrei’s 1st
fight on his new contract.

Winner:
“Wildfire” Johnny Rage for his blatant anti-Purdue sentiments.
