Rage In The Cage 10
Johnny "Wildfire" Rage
"See you in the showers, Ron Mexico."
Ultimate Fighter Finale has come and gone, next season’s coaches have been named, my thoughts on the
upcoming rematch against Skippy McMannis, new sponsorship, UFC Awards ‘07 voting, and, of course, the always
popular “Spreading Wildfire.” Lets find out who “Wildfire” is burning for.

After years of boring Ultimate Fighter Finales, we had one that turned into a Card Of The Year Candidate.  Mac
Danzig won this year’s title in a very uneven matchup, regardless of what the Sherdog trolls tell you.  Clay Guida
dominated Roger Huerta for rounds one and two but fell victim to huge knee strikes and a rear naked choke.  I still
want to see a rematch and refuse to believe that Huerta is a better fighter.  Josh Koscheck lost to Drew Fickett in
the same manner as Guida did, and you don’t hear anyone saying that Fickett is better than Koscheck. Anyway,
great night of fights and hopefully a sign of things to come inside the Octagon.

On the subject of the Ultimate Fighter, let’s talk about next season’s coaches: current UFC Light Heavyweight
Champion Rampage Jackson & Ultimate Fighter Season 1 Champion Forrest Griffin.  I think this is a great decision
by the UFC, as both men will make for great TV.  I must also assume that both will fight each other at the end of
the season and, regardless of Forrest’s win against Shogun, I don’t think Rampage has anything to worry about. I’
ve always thought that Shogun was overrated and don’t think Rampage will have any problems out-striking and
out-classing Forrest.

Round 2 of the Scrubsports.com Pick’em Contest was Saturday night and I’m glad to say that I dominated Bob
Baroni by a score of 67 to 30. Round 3 will be this Wednesday and the event will be WEC 31. It features 3 title
fights and the heated showdown between Jens Pulver and Cub Swanson.  This should be a fantastic night of
fights on the Versus Network.

While WEC 31 features that heated showdown, the more important showdown that night happens between
myself and Skippy McMannis.  As some of you may remember, Skippy scored a 90 on the Cage Rage event earlier
this month.  Well, once I brought to attention the fact that Skippy wasn’t all natural, his picks got worse and he
faded faster than D.C. Stephenson at the Million Man March.  Skippy scored a lousy 46 for the Ultimate Fighter
Finale.  McMannis is starting to resemble Pudge Rodriguez after steroid testing, all skinny and deflated.
Nevertheless, the abuse I dole out on Skippy in our rematch will be worse than Mike Vick’s going to get during
shower time. I would like to advise the gentlemen (and I use that term loosely) in the Pokey that Mr. Vick is known
for an itchy crotch, so please be safe and wear a Doritos bag for protection.
For some of you who may be new to the site, I would like you to check out our new sponsor: No Mercy
Athletics.  Their website is

to thank David McKinney for his recent e-mail, as he is just one of the millions Torches out there helping me spread
some “Wildfire” this holiday season.

This week’s “Spreading Wildfire” is sponsored by No Mercy Athletics. The topic that I want to touch on is Dana
White.  Just the mere mention of his name has a polarizing effect.  I don’t want to start a pissing contest, but
Dana White didn’t achieve his position at Zuffa by winning a popularity contest.  Therefore, it doesn’t matter
whether you love or hate him.  He’s there to do a job and he’s done a damn fine job at that.  He’s brought UFC to
the masses in ways that no one else could.  He doesn’t have to do gimmicky matches like PRIDE did and he
certainly doesn’t have to give in to everyone’s contract demands.  He didn’t sign Fedor and I’m damn proud of that
because Fedor is overrated.  Fedor can fight all those 7”6 Korean dudes and horrible one-dimensional
Middleweights and claim his dominance, because most of us with a brain know that he’s scared to fight someone
where the Russian Mob or Yakuza’s influence won’t be felt.  White doesn’t allow his fighters to take it easy and
that’s the truth, no matter how many people on Sherdog want to bitch about it.  They want to call White’s plans
for the UFC pathetic, but what I think is pathetic is paying to be able to say things on a MMA Message Board.
