| RITC Pick 'Em: Round 2 "Wildfire" Rage Vs. "Best Eva" Baroni |
“Wildfire” Johnny Rage is back in the hot seat again and he tries to defend his MMA Pick’em Title. This time he takes on a new comer to Scrubsports.com Bob “Best Eva” Baroni. This should be a fantastic night of fights that is headlined by “Friend of Scrubsports.com” Clay Guida vs. Roger Huerta. So no more wasting time, lets get to the picks! The winner will be determined by using the MMAPlayground scoring system. MAIN EVENT Clay Guida (22-8) vs. Roger Huerta (19-1-1) Baroni: Guida is used to fighting tough competition while Huerta has been lulled into a sleep with the cans he has been fed. Guida’s tremendous energy and wrestling will eventually overwhelm Huerta. Huerta has a great chin and is comfortable on his feet or back, but Guida is relentless and a top-notch wrestler. Winner: Guida via TKO due to punches from the mount (2nd Round) “Wildfire”: Huerta seems to have difficulty matching up against guys who are explosive and Guida is the man for the job. While I don’t think that Guida will finish Huerta, I think that he will do enough to steal the victory for Huerta. This should be a razor thin decision. Guida’s activity should earn him the win. Winner: Guida by Split Decision Ultimate Fighter Finals Mac Dazing (16-4-1) vs. Tommy Spear (9-1) Baroni: I am going to say Danzig is going to win because of his technique and savvy. As long as Danzig does not lose confidence in his ability to fight at welterweight, expect him to take this fight. Speer’s strength will give Danzig some fits and he may win the opening round, but that’s all I see happening. Winner: Danzig via Unanimous Decision “Wildfire”: I was worried for Danzig until I read that he was training with Xtreme Couture. This means that he will be prepared for Tommy’s awesome strength. I think that Danzig peppers Tommy with jabs and frustrates Tommy for the entire three rounds on his way to a Unanimous Decision victory. Winner: Mac Danzig by Unanimous Decision Jared Rollins (6-3) vs. Jon Copenhagen (4-1) Baroni: Which J-Rock will show up? Rollins is has overall skill and enough power in his hands to rock Koppenhaver. War Machine wont give up easy, but he is prone to giving his back and Rollins is a finisher. This could go into the third depending on the pace and their cardio. Winner: Rollins via Rear Naked Choke (3rd Round) “Wildfire”: I think that “War Machine” will show up and dominate Rollins. I have faith in “War Machine’s” striking and think that he will get Rollins down and pound out a TKO victory. Winner: Jon Koppenhaver by 2nd Round TKO The Rest Of The Card Predictions: Baroni: Richie Hightower by Unanimous Decision over Troy Mandaloniz “Wildfire”: Richie Hightower by Unanimous Decision over Troy Mandaloniz Baroni: George Sotiropoulos over Billy Miles by 2nd Round TKO via Strikes “Wildfire”: George Sotiropoulos over Billy Miles by 1st Round Tapout (RNC) Baroni: Matt Arroyo over John Kolosci by 1st Round Tapout (RNC) “Wildfire”: Matt Arroyo over John Kolosci by 2nd Round Tapout (Guillotine) Baroni: Dorian Price over Roman Mitichyan via 2nd Round KO “Wildfire”: Roman Mitichyan over Dorian Price via 1st Round Tapout (Armbar) Baroni: Dan Barrera over Ben Saunders by Unanimous Decision “Wildfire”: Ben Saunders over Dan Barrera by Unanimous Decision Baroni: Jonathan Goulet over Paul Georgieff by 1st Round KO “Wildfire”: Jonathan Goulet over Paul Georgieff by 1st Round Tapout (Strikes) |
