The Gambling God is back, bringing with me all kinds of chaos and corruption.  There is just so much to go over in so
little time.  We have the Super Bowl just days away, and there is no getting around all the controversy.

Last week when we went over the line, it was at 14, which means the Patriots have to beat the Giants by two touchdowns
or the Giants have to lose by less than that same amount.  Now we are looking at a line it is anywhere from 11.5 to 13.  Planet
Hollywood in Vegas has it at 13, but they are not quite up on everything like everyone else (I blame the writers strike.)  There is
actually some merit to all of this: Bootleg Brady, formally known as Tom comes out in practice with an ankle support.  When
the player who just had the best season ever by a quarterback has a chink in his armor, public bettors jump all over that.  Money
pours in for the Giants so the odds have to drop to try to get more people betting the Patriots keeping the money on both sides
as even as possible.  So you see there are so many options when 11.5 to 13 points can mean the difference of winning or losing
a bet.

“Where should I go to bet” you ask?  Great question.  The only place you can walk into and make a bet on a game is in
Nevada.  Sportsbooks are outlawed everywhere else.  Well, it is an internet world isn’t it?  There literally are thousands of
internet sites on which you can open up an account and place a bet.  To open an account you need to deposit money.  You can
wire transfer: some take electronic checks, pay pal, net teller and of course credit cards.  I wouldn’t ever recommend using a
bank card though.  You aren’t protected nearly as well against fraud with a bank card like you are a credit card.  Some
sportsbooks won’t take action in the US (Pinnacle Sports).

So, for a small-time beginning bettor, here are some of the best online sportsbooks: BetJamaica, Legendz, 5Dimes, BoDog
and BetOnline (from Sportsbookreview.com). These sites have the best customer service, good odds, quick payouts and easy
navigation.  Some websites are actually on an open-forum blacklist because they can be so hard to get a payout from.  Stick
with the above sites and you will be fine.  BoDog has a great reputation and is getting extremely aggressive at covering MMA
events (not all books give those lines.)

Getting a payout from a sportsbook shouldn’t be challenging but sometimes it is.  The process may take a week to ten
days, and on all books you have to wait 10 days after any deposit to make a withdrawal.  When you do withdraw funds, you
will typically be credited back in the same manner you deposited.  Anything greater than your initial deposit may need to be
wired.  For example, let’s say you deposited $100 into your account using your credit card and have won $150.  You would
likely receive a $100 credit back to that same credit card and a wire transfer (Western Union) would be used to pay out the
remaining $50.  No matter what method of withdrawal your site uses, expect to be charged for it, usually about ten to twenty
bucks.

We hear it all the time at here at ScrubSports, and especially at Sports Book Gods:”What’s the best bet?”  Keep it simple,
bet one team at a time to start (use the guide from my last post, Opening Lines).  Get as informed as you can.  It never hurts to
take a free pick from the pros.  We have three free picks up daily and an explanation as to why we chose that team or total.
Please do not guess.  BetUs.com has some decent resources for research.  Also, just because your buddy wins his office pool
every year doesn’t mean that he is going to clean up with the books.  Money management is just as important as the bets you
place.  That is another article for another day, but one trick is to set a losing and a winning limit.

I'll be back in a few days with a breakdown of the big game.
